Hi, I'm Alycia, the dyer behind KnitWise Fibers.

KnitWise Fibers is a small-batch yarn studio with two non-negotiables: it has to feel amazing, and it has to be fun.

Every base has to pass what I call the “smooshy test.” If it isn’t soft, satisfying, and durable enough to hold up over time, it’s out. I’m not interested in yarn that only looks good in a skein. If you’re going to spend hours knitting something, you should love it from start to finish.

I’ve been dyeing yarn for nearly a decade, creating intentional colorways that knit up as beautifully as they look. My background as a Creative Director shows up in the details. Color, balance and consistency are always considered, even when the end result feels effortless.

I love a punch of whimsy, a color that makes you pause, and a name that’s just a little unhinged (in a good way). You’ll find semi-solids, tonals, and speckles, but never anything that feels random or overdone.

KnitWise Fibers is for anyone who loves yarn. Knit it perfectly, knit it messily, frog it three times, or cast it on and hope for the best. As long as you love what you’re making, you’re doing it right.

More recently, this has become a family operation.My son, fresh out of high school, has started helping out and he’s already eyeing the future of the business, which raises the stakes in a good way. This isn’t just something I enjoy doing. It’s something I’m building to last.
